Our consultants advise health and human services organizations in a wide array of operational and strategic matters. From guiding acquisitions to supporting compliance efforts, our approach involves careful collaboration to ensure project goals are established, organizational and need assessments conducted, and progress is measured and routinely reported while maintain clear communication regarding challenges, opportunities, costs, risks and benefits.

We guide, design and implement strategic structural changes for health systems, hospitals, nursing homes, home health care agencies, urgent care centers, assisted living facilities, agencies serving children and families, and other providers. These structural changes include acquisitions, affiliations, corporate organizations and reorganizations, divestitures, joint ventures and mergers. Our operational experience involves advising on state and federal corporate and industry compliance, developing information security programs and policies, record retention programs, policies and procedures, debt and equity capitalization, including public and private financial transactions, and governance and board development and responsibilities. 


Health care is a heavily regulated industry. Having a compliance program is critical to ensure that a health care entity follows applicable federal and state laws while avoiding concerns of fraud and abuse. Our consultants work closely with compliance officers and compliance personnel to support robust compliance efforts, from the creation of a program to effective training to developing corrective action plans. We also assist in investigating, analyzing and responding to potential violations.

Our services include:

      • Drafting an effective compliance plan, including Code of Conduct and policies and procedures that enable organizations to meet legal and regulatory obligations, based in part on Office of Inspector General (OIG) and Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) work plans and risk assessments

      • Performing risk assessments and assisting in monitoring high risk areas and developing corrective action plans when issues are identified

      • Auditing areas in compliance work plan

      • Supporting compliance officer in administering compliance plans and reporting on compliance issues to the Board; and training new employees, contractors and board members, including working to promote compliance program and ways to report suspected compliance issues.

      • Developing compliance work plans Reviewing agreements to identify and work to eliminate improper inducements, kickbacks and potential fraud and assisting in ensuring that services performed are reasonable and necessary

      • Drafting and assisting with implementation of whistleblower policies and establishing various means of contacting the compliance officer, including anonymous reporting mechanisms such as hotlines

      • Working with legal department or outside attorneys on self-disclosure, if appropriate or required
